Any lingering doubts about the talent of Class of 2026 quarterback Kane Archer (6-1.5, 205) have been erased this fall. Leading Greenwood High School (Greenwood, AR) to a flawless regular season, this four-star QB has been lighting up the field with pinpoint passes. His impressive performance has captured the attention of college coaching staffs nationwide.
The explosive game film and video game-like stat line support the more than twenty bids made to Archer.
The modest four-star returned his attention to his teammates and coaching staff when asked about the huge season and performing at such a high level.
Archer remarked, “I think it’s just our timing and being on the field a lot with these guys.” “The timing, the time spent together, 7v7 competitions, team camps, summer training, and everything else helps with the guys I have.” Every week, three to five coaches work really hard to make me seem beautiful, which is fantastic.
Archer reflected on how his junior season has improved over his sophomore year, saying, “I’m playing more consistently each week and making smart decisions with what the defense gives me, and I think the stats reflect that. I’m close to an 82 percent completion rate. I’m not forcing things as much. Last year in the red zone, I got a bit greedy, but now, when we’re in scoring position, I trust my teammates, focus on my role, and let things fall into place.”
Archer is having just as much action on the recruiting trail.
“This weekend, I’m heading to Auburn,” Archer revealed. “I’m getting calls from Alabama asking me to attend games. Interest has also been expressed by Kansas, Utah, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State.
Before leaving for Jordan-Hare to play Louisiana-Monroe, Archer talked about his bond with the Tigers’ coaching staff.
Archer said, “Coach (Jesse) Stone (SAO) and I have been keeping in touch.” He has been enlisting me. Walker (White, quarterback) likes being up there. I’m thrilled, he replies; it’s a terrific place to be.
Archer has more SEC trips planned.
“I am not sure how that will work out, but I am going to Alabama on the 30th and I will probably make an Arkansas game in a couple of weeks,” Archer stated.
In Tuscaloosa, recruiting ties are strengthening.
Archer stated, “I am keeping in touch with their quarterback coach, coach (Nick) Sheridan.” He says he enjoys my movie and invites me to come see the mood. Alabama’s program is good.
Here’s a revised version:
The Razorbacks’ commitment from Jayvon Gilmore has complicated their relationship with an in-state recruit.
“They’ve already got their 2026 quarterback from South Carolina, so the connection has faded,” Archer explained.
As Archer navigates the recruiting scene, he has a clear vision of his ideal college fit.
“I’m looking for a place close to home, though that’s not a must, with a head coach or offensive coordinator who can prepare me for the next level. I want to go somewhere I won’t be sidelined for too long. I know I’ll need to prove myself and probably sit out a year to adjust and pick up the pace of the game. I want a place that feels like home and can set me up for success.”
Wrapping up the interview, Archer had one last thing to say: “I have the two best receivers in the state, the best offensive line in the state, and the best coaches in the state.”
