Twenty-four MaxPreps All-Americans, including Co-Freshmen of the Year Jerzy Robinson of Desert Vista (Phoenix, Ariz.) and McKenna Woliczko of Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.), are among the 55 girls invited to compete at USA Basketball’s U16 National Team trials in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The trials run through May 25 with the 12-player roster expected May 30 as the team prepares for its competition June 13-19 in Merida, Mexico at the FIBA U16 Women’s Americas Championship. The trials are open to girls in the classes of 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028.
The Class of 2026 is stacked with 13 MaxPreps All-Americans invited to the trials, including Addison Bjorn, Amari Byles, Brihanna Crittendon, Oliviyah Edwards, Autumn Fleary, Sanai Green, Maddyn Greenway, Saniyah Hall, Jordyn Jayla Jackson, Trinity Jones, Isabella Ragone and Olivia Vukosa along with Robinson and Woliczko.
The Class of 2025 MaxPreps All-Americans who were invited include Dee Alexander, Aaliyah Crump, Lanie Grant, Keziah Lofton, Ayla McDowell, Aliyahna Morris, Jasmine Nivar, Keeley Parks and Hailee Swain.
For the class of 2027, Haylen Ayers, Taylor Brown, Lauren Hassell and Jordyn Palmer will be in attendance. Sydney Douglas is set to participate as the only athlete from the 2028 class.
“We are excited to have such a talented group set to compete for roster spots on the 2023 Women’s U16 National Team,” Kirsten Moore of the USA Basketball Developmental National Team Committee said. “For many of these athletes, this will be their first time participating in USA Basketball trials and we are excited to see who rises to that challenge.”
The coaches for the U16 team include Dan Rolfes of Incarnate Word Academy (St. Louis, Mo.), Bobbi Morgan of Ursinus College and Trenia Tillis-Hoard of Tyler Junior College. Court coaches for trials will be Karen Self of Seton Catholic (Chandler, Ariz.) and Audrey Taylor of Franklin (Somerset, N.J.).
