High school baseball: Longest win streaks entering 2024 season

Preseason national No. 1 Stoneman Douglas of Florida carrying a 51-game streak into the spring.

Not only is Stoneman Douglas (Parkland, Fla.) No. 1 in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25, but the Eagles also lay claim to high school baseball’s longest active win streak at 51 games.

Stoneman Douglas won its last 22 games of the 2022 season en route to winning a state championship. The Eagles then went 29-0 last year to up the steak to 51 in a row, becoming one of 43 teams in history who have won 50 or more games in a row. They are also in reach of the Florida state record of 60 in a row, set by Calvary Christian (Clearwater) from 2016 to 2018.

Last year, St. Mary’s Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.) came within five games of the tying the national record of 89 in a row, set by Portsmouth (N.H.) between 2008 and 2012. The Eaglets saw their streak end at 84 in a row – good for third on the all-time list.

A total of 13 teams begin the 2024 season with at least 20 wins in a row.
