Buford (Ga.) was already loaded with talent heading into the 2023 high school football season and just added the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2024 in Dylan Raiola. The five-star quarterback has already enrolled at his new high school according to Rusty Mansell of On3.

Raiola played his junior season at Chandler (Ariz.), throwing for 2,435 yards and 22 touchdowns. He transferred to Pinnacle (Phoenix) in February but was facing a possible five-game suspension by the Arizona Interscholastic Association because of its transfer policy.

The Georgia commit played his first two years of high school at Burleson (Texas) and had a strong sophomore campaign throwing for 3,341 yards and 32 touchdowns to go with nine rushing scores.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback committed to the Bulldogs in May and has been the top-rated prospect by 247Sports since April 2022. He checks all the boxes when it comes to talent and playing the position.

With his transfer to Buford, Raiola won’t have to sit out any games and will get the opportunity to play a full season with one of the most talented teams in the country. Expect to see the Wolves ranked in the top 10 of the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 set to be released June 26.

Raiola joins K.J. Bolden and Eddrick Houston at Buford as five-star prospects in the Class of 2024. Jadon Perlotte and Devin Williams are both top 100 players in the Class of 2025. The Wolves have six other players rated as a three-star recruits or higher headlined by Tyshun White, Brayden Jacobs and Mantrez Walker. They also have 2022 MaxPreps Freshman All-American defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright.

The Wolves open the 2023 season hosting St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) on Aug. 18. Expect both teams to be ranked in the top 10. They also have matchups against Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.), North Cobb (Kennesaw), and Mill Creek (Hoschton).
