The game was close throughout, with neither team able to take a commanding lead. Brophy College Prep took an early lead on a touchdown pass from quarterback Charlie McGinnis to wide receiver Jack Jones. The Mountain Lions responded with a touchdown run from quarterback Samuel Lopez to tie the game at 7-7.

The two teams traded touchdowns in the second quarter, with Brophy College Prep taking a 14-7 lead into halftime. The Mountain Lions came out firing in the third quarter, scoring two touchdowns to take a 21-14 lead.

Brophy College Prep answered with a touchdown of their own in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 21-20. The Broncos then recovered an onside kick and drove down the field, but they were stopped on fourth down at the Mountain Lions’ 10-yard line.

The Mountain Lions were able to run out the clock and secure the victory.

Lopez was the star of the game for the Mountain Lions, throwing for 205 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 87 yards and another touchdown. McGinnis was also solid for the Broncos, throwing for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

The Mountain Lions will now advance to the next round of the playoffs, where they will face the Desert Vista Thunder.
