Top 25 most dominant Hawaii high school football programs of last 20 years

Eight state championships and 12 title game appearances puts Kahuku on top of the list.

Powered by eight state championships, Kahuku is the most dominant high school football team from Hawaii over the last 20 years.

Based on our methodology, the Red Raiders amassed 704 points from 2004 to 2023 to edge Saint Louis (Honolulu), which narrowly finished second with 698 points.

Saint Louis won four state championships since 2004 in eight title game appearances. The Crusaders’ point total was bolstered by nationally-ranked teams in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Our methodology includes:

  • Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps state computer rankings (25 points awarded to the No. 1 team, 24 for No. 2 and so on).
  • Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps national computer rankings (50 points for No. 1, 49 for No. 2 and so on).
  • State championships (20 points).
  • State championship game appearances (10 points).
